Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking for mental health counseling in Denver, here are some questions to consider when connecting with a licensed professional counselor or therapist so you can find the right support with someone who can meet you where you are and guide you to where you want to be.

What to Know About Therapy in General

  • If you find yourself in a position where you’re navigating change, transition, or even loss, you might find that you need support as you’re managing these shifts in life. Therapy and mental health counseling can provide you with the tools and practices to help you feel empowered in navigating change and clear in your own self-understanding, self-awareness, and self-insight—this is where you will learn how to trust in yourself, your skills, and your inner wisdom to create a fulfilling and sustaining life.

  • Holistic psychotherapy honors the whole person—mind, body, and soul. is a safe and supportive space that can help you heal from trauma so you can feel more connected to yourself, safe in your body, and in alignment with your values. Therapy and mental health counseling is the best form of care for healing yourself whole. In therapy, we’re updating outdated systems and ways of functioning that aren’t sustainable or serving us anymore by exploring intergenerational and past traumas that may still be affecting us and impacting our lives.

  • 20% of the population are considered to be highly sensitive individuals who easily empathize with others and can often give away their energy. They can find themselves struggling with creating clear boundaries and protecting themselves and may often feel overwhelmed and find themselves over-functioning to the point of burnout. Embodiment is the key to healing and making shifts from giving your energy away to pouring it back into yourself, so you can fill up your own cup, set better boundaries, take care of yourself, and advocate for what you need. In therapy, you will learn how to harness your energy with conscious awareness and intention by accessing your intuitive knowledge and somatic wisdom so you can navigate the world around you without overwhelm, remain emotionally regulated, and feel more grounded overall.

  • Our nervous systems are responsible for how we feel in our bodies, and when we are emotionally dysregulated, we can often feel like we’re on high alert, which is when we tend to over-function and feel overwhelmed. When we’re able to feel safe enough in our bodies to release trauma and energetic blocks stored in our bodies, we can learn how to manage our energy, regulate our nervous systems, and generally feel better.

  • Our bodies store energy and emotions and can hold onto the aftermath of what we’ve been through—our bodies also carry wisdom, and to access it, we must be present in our bodies and attuned to the language of the body. It’s why we incorporate yoga, reiki, and other healing modalities into the work that we do. When we learn to hear and trust in our internal guidance system, we can use more of our heart, gut, and brain wisdom to connect our mind, body, and soul and achieve mental, emotional, behavioral, and energetic changes.
